Laughing Smiling MIRACLES

I don’t think I conveyed what a miracle it was we got a court date!  Because the courts shut down July/August there are many who want to get court dates before this.  Did I tell you Esther’s middle name is going to be Favor?  Around the time we said “yes” to adopting Esther a little sweetheart in Liberia I’ve loved for a long time died. http://globalorphanoutreach.blogspot.com/2012/04/forever-remembering-favour.html (there are lots of beautiful children with CP who need to be adopted in Liberia and special needs adoptions are going through well)  Her name was Favour and having just gone through the book of Esther, I knew this was the perfect middle name for little Esther who has found so much favor in the eyes of so many.

The thought of leaving her here while I board a plane tomorrow was ripping my heart out.  I don’t even leave Blessing in ICU where she gets one on one nursing care!  No one cares for a child like their mother. One of Esther’s labels is “autistic” but I think a lot of her retreat inward is due to neglect.  (music really makes mer come alive though and if I sing to her she locks eyes with me) Today we had to take her to the doctor (a British guy who took one look at her and said “CP” i.e. cerebral palsy) to get an x-ray of her hand to determine her age to get a birth certificate.  (I learned more about her history as well, that she was brought to the orphanage at around age 3 weighing little more than a newborn and she couldn’t swallow well, sit or crawl or do much of anything for a long time.  She was put on one drug then had a mother of a status seizure last August after contracting pneumonia, where they then added another one.)

We had to get her up very early, and she missed out on her meds.  Let me tell you.....a drug-free Esther was a different girl!  I could tell being away from the orphanage for so many hours was an overwhelming experience for her, (she kept wanting to lay down in the dirt as has been so much of her life) but on the way home the bumps in the road made her start to smile a bit!  I swear I heard a giggle.  There is a man who works at the orphanage here named Daniel who has loved Esther and listen to an update he wrote years ago about Esther:  "I talk to her about Jesus and tell her that her father in heaven is always looking out for her and that one day he is going to give her a family that will give her all the love and care she deserves."

Then tonight I got to witness a miracle.  After feeding Esther she started to become very interactive with me.  Laughing!  Smiling!  It was miraculous!  A kiss from Jesus to let me know she was going to be alright while I was gone for the next 20 days.  I can’t stop crying right now so I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.  If you don’t fall down and start shouting “GLORY!” you might not have a pulse.

I posted so many because I really could not choose which one she was the cutest in!

Glory! Glory! Glory! The Lord of love and light is shining down on this precious daughter of the most high King. And... you, you get to be her mother... because you said yes... Brad said yes... all of your children said yes! I'd put all the pictures up too... they are all a part of Esther's story and God's love for her.

I had the privilege of meeting sweet Esther last summer. In fact, I was with the same group as Lexie. Lexie, has had such a heart for your girl and has prayed for her to find a family. I am so over the moon excited for your family and for Esther! Her smile just about says it all doesn't it! I am shouting yippee Jesus that Esther's family found her! Can't wait to see her home!

Hugs,
Robin

Jenny. She is absolutely remade. THAT - right THERE - THAT is a child reborn. That is a story tasting redemption. I, myself am undone by these, crying while I type, so blown away by what is so evidently a daughter and no longer an orphan.
The only benefit I can see is getting your hands on anti-seizure meds she may actually need to bring back with you...but I know that the Lord surely has more than even that worked into His good story and plan for Esther.
He. Wastes. Nothing.
I'm praying for you as you leave and just in awe.

Oh Jenny,
I have been so incredibly blessed to know you. You were one of the first people I shared my wish with, abut wanting to adopt an HIV child. You didn't tell me I was crazy or weird as some have. You encouraged me. I'll always remember that! I am thrilled for your family, and for Esther. God couldn't have placed her into a more loving advocating Jesus loving home. When I prayed a family for her, It was a family like yours I was thinking about. God is so good, just and merciful. Love you lots sweet Jenny.
